County selects new leader for Livestock Arena, Agri-Civic Center

Stanly County announced on Friday that Chris Lambert has accepted the county’s offer to become the new event facilities director.

The director will be responsible for overseeing both the
new Livestock Arena and the Agri-Civic Center facility.
Lambert is the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau director, but he will transition to his new role as event facilities director for the county in mid-April.

He and his family reside in the Norwood area.

“The County interviewed several quality candidates, but Chris emerged from the field due to his extensive experience with tourism, marketing and social media which will be very important as the county seeks to leverage the new Livestock Arena and the existing Agri-Civic Center facility as civic and agri-tourism assets,” County Manager Andy Lucas said. “Additionally, Chris has significant experience with the county’s financial systems.”

Current Agri-Civic Center Director Amanda Rowland, Lucas said, remains employed with the county. Her position will transition into events facilities coordinator.
