Pfeiffer men’s track team competes at Wendy’s Seahawk Navy Invitational

The Pfeiffer men’s and women’s track and field teams continued their outdoor season at the Wendy’s Seahawk Navy Invitational on Saturday. Pfeiffer recorded 12 top-five performances, one event win and one school record during the event.

For the men, senior Keyshawn Campbell led the way for the Falcons notching a top-five finish in the 200m dash and top-10 finishes in the 100m dash and long jump. Campbell ran personal-best times of 11.08 in the 100m to finish sixth and 22.79 in the 200m to finish fifth. His jump of 6.19m (20-1) was good for seventh place.

Sophomore Tasker Brown and senior Tevin Colson continued to have strong performance in the early season. Brown and Colson finished first and second respectively in the 400m dash. Brown ran a season best time of 51.07 while Colson, a former North Stanly standout, ran a personal-best time of 51.34. Colson followed up his strong run in the 400m, with another personal best time of 23.09 in the 200m dash to finish ninth overall.

Senior Jonathan Brindle led the way for the Falcon men in the field events. Brindle threw a season best toss of 44.51m (146-0) in the javelin to finish second overall. Brindle also notched a top-five finish in the shot put taking third overall with a 9.90m (32-5.75) throw. Junior Devin Ludwick took third overall in the javelin throwing a personal best 34.64m (113-8).

The Falcons will be off this coming week, next returning to action on March 19-20 as they head to the Montreat Invitational.
