Hospice of Stanly recognized as one of Best Places to Work in Healthcare in 2023

Hospice of Stanly has been selected by Modern Healthcare as one of the 2023 Best Places to Work in Healthcare.

With more than 40 years of experience, Hospice of Stanly is a 5-star rated, non-profit organization providing hospice and palliative care services to Stanly, Montgomery and surrounding counties.

“An uncertain economy, staffing shortages and increasing demands for flexibility and remote work opportunities are forcing every business in the industry to focus on attracting and retaining talent in unprecedented ways,” said Dan Peres, president of Modern Healthcare. “The 2023 Best Places to Work winners proved the value of understanding what employees want — and need — today. The healthcare industry is going through a period of extraordinary change. Having the right people in place is more critical than ever, and the winning workplaces understand that taking care of employees is central to business success.”

“Hospice of Stanly offers hospice and palliative care to our community, ensuring dignity and respect are integral in the care we deliver to individuals living with a serious illness,” said Hospice of Stanly CEO Lori Thayer, RHIA. “At Hospice of Stanly, this approach doesn’t stop with those we serve — our team treats each other with dignity and respect, embracing diversity and collaboration that results in delivery of the best care in the area. Recognition from Modern Healthcare as one of the best places to work in healthcare validates that philosophy. I’m extremely proud of our exceptional team and grateful for this recognition.”

This award program identifies and recognizes outstanding employers in the healthcare industry nationwide. Modern Healthcare partners with Workforce Research Group on the assessment process, which includes an extensive employee survey.

The complete list of this year’s winners, in alphabetical order, is available at ModernHealthcare.com/bestplaceslist. Modern Healthcare will publish a special supplement featuring a ranked list of all the winners along with the Oct. 2 issue of MH magazine.

“Sincere congratulations to the entire organization at Hospice of Stanly for this recognition,” said Scott Efird, chairman of the Hospice of Stanly board of directors. “Our community has long known that the ladies in pink were part of a special team and this recognition confirms it.”

Hospice of Stanly will find out its ranking on the Best Places list and be celebrated at the 2023 Best Places to Work in Healthcare Awards Gala taking place Sept. 28 at the Renaissance Chicago. Information about the gala is available at ModernHealthcare.com/BestPlacesGala.
