Montgomery County man wins $559,795 Fast Play jackpot

RALEIGH – On Friday afternoon, Roger Hurley of Troy tried his luck on a 50X The Cash ticket and won a $559,795 Fast Play jackpot prize.

He bought his lucky ticket from the Troy Community Mart on Albermarle Road in Troy. At the time of the win, the jackpot reached $559,795. Since he purchased a $10 ticket, he received 100% of the jackpot.

Hurley arrived at lottery headquarters Friday to collect his prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $400,177.

Fast Play features an instantly growing jackpot that increases with every ticket sold until it is won. As of Monday morning, the Fast Play jackpot stands at $41,100 and counting.

A $2.6 million grant, using money raised by the lottery, helped Montgomery County make renovations to Candor Elementary School, Greenridge Elementary School, Page Elementary School, and East Montgomery Middle School.
