Oakboro’s Fourth of July Celebration kicks off June 25 and runs through July 4 with rides, entertainment, pageants and more.

The festivities open at 6:30 p.m. June 25 with a community worship service at the pavilion in Oakboro District Park.

Things heat back up at 6 p.m. June 29 when the B&K Carnival on the Midway begins with a $20 armband night.

The Entertainers will perform a free concert at 8:30 p.m.

The carnival continues with a $20 armband night at 6 p.m. June 30.

Also at 6 p.m. will be the Little Miss 4th of July Pageant.

At 8 p.m., individuals can sign up for the talent show at Oakboro Fire Department.

At 8:30 p.m., Ryan Perry will perform a free concert.

The carnival continues at 6 p.m. July 1 with a $25 armband night.

The talent show also begins at 6 p.m.

Too Much Sylvia will perform a free concert at 8:30 p.m.

The carnival returns at 6 p.m. July 3 with another $25 armband night.

The Cat5 Band will take the stage for a free concert at 8 p.m.

The annual Fourth of July Parade will begin at 9 a.m. July 4.

Following the parade are opening ceremonies with welcoming remarks by Mayor Chris Huneycutt, an invocation, the national anthem, Pledge of Allegiance and flag raising.

The Miss Stanly County Fire Queen Pageant will then follow along with a barbecue lunch at the fire department.

Rides on the midway will close at 2 p.m. and reopen at 5 p.m.

The Tonez will perform a free concert at 8:30 p.m.

A raffle drawing will follow at 10:30 p.m. and fireworks at 11:30 p.m. The time of fireworks is subject to change depending on weather.

The celebration will conclude at midnight.

With the exception of July 4, the celebration concludes at 11:30 p.m. each day.
