Friends of Stanly County Library to host fall book sale
The Friends of the Stanly County Library will have its fall book sale on Oct. 6-9 in the lower level of the main library, 133 E. Main St, Albemarle. This is an in-person book sale with restrictions due to COVID-19. Face covering/masks are required for entry to the sale. Gloves and hand sanitizer will be available.
Occupancy to the sale will be limited to 25 persons at a time. If necessary during high traffic times, a time limit may be imposed.
On the evening of Oct. 6, Friends members with active paid memberships have a special opportunity to shop for books at half price from 4-7 p.m. Memberships can be renewed or purchased at the door.
On Oct. 7-8, the sale is open to the public from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. On Oct. 9, the sale runs from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and books can be purchased at an even deeper discount of $1 per bag.
The book sale includes hardbacks, paperbacks, CDs, Audio books, DVDs and more. Hardbacks and large soft covers are $1, trade paperbacks and children’s paperbacks are $.25, children’s hardbacks are $.50, and books on tape, records and DVDs are $1. There are thousands of books and other items on sale for all interest areas.
Proceeds from the sale help the Friends of the Stanly County Library support public library services in all branches.
Friends of the Stanly County Library was formed in 1992 as a nonprofit organization to provide support of the Stanly County Library and encourage use of services, inform others of issues affecting the library, and assist in increasing literacy in Stanly County Library.
Each year the group sponsors special events such as author presentations, workshops, book sales in the spring and fall, and the Children’s Summer Reading Program. Membership forms will be available during the Book Sale.
