Music is one of the many items missing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Stanly County Concert Association hopes to change all that as conditions improve.

Charlotte Maness, president of the association, recently sent a letter to supporters of SCCA to fill them in on plans for the upcoming season.

The association had hoped to offer concerts this spring, but limitations on crowd sizes remain in place.

“As all of you are very aware this pandemic situation is improving in many ways but the clearance for crowds is not sufficient for us to begin,” Maness wrote. “This is a key factor for all concerts, sports events, gatherings and events to be scheduled. SCCA is extremely
concerned for the safety and well being of those who gather with us for our concerts.”

SCCA’s plans now have the next season beginning in August, providing gathering restrictions have lifted, and running through April 2022 with six concerts.

Featured performers include The Embers at 3 p.m. Aug. 29, The Malpass Brothers at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16, Paul Saik at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13, The Nashville Legacy Christmas Show at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 11, The Entertainers at 7:30 p.m. March 19, 2022, and The Hall Sisters at 7:30 p.m. April 23, 2022.

“We are so anxious that this will come together, and we can all gather and enjoy this great selection of music,” Maness said. “These artists are looking forward to being with us also.”

All performances are in the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center auditorium.
