The West Stanly men’s basketball team improved to 12-10 overall and 5-3 in the Rocky River Conference with a lopsided home win Tuesday over East Montgomery, 68-30.

Hayden Greene led West with 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field and 4-of-5 at the free-throw line. The Colts senior center has 969 career points through Tuesday’s game with two more regular-season games remaining.

Austin Medlin added 14, hitting 6-of-9 overall from the floor. Trevor Kelly led West with nine rebounds.

Wesley Myrick led the Eagles (5-16, 1-7) with 12 points.

“We did a great job early with intensity and our defense was very good in the first half,” West coach John Thompson said. “Brack Morgan and Trevor Kelly were especially good on the defensive end and with rebounding early. Hayden and Austin were very efficient tonight.  When we are as patient as we were tonight in the first half we can be tough to beat.”

The Colts play at Anson County Friday.
